Emilcotoni Cotton Yarn spinners are the home of Sea Island Cotton, Gaza 45, Suvin and SperPiuma Cotton yarns. The company was originally founded in Piacenza and company started out as a branch of a larger company called Tintura Fibre Tessili who have specialised in the dying of cotton thread since 1946. Emilcotoni as a company developed rapidly in the eighties due to a key strategic choice; to be single-minded and dedicated in the production and sale of cotton yarn for knitwear.

With 30 years of experience, Emilcotoni is now the market leader of production of high tech cotton thread.

The superior quality of their products, and ability to swiftly deliver those products to the consumer has allowed Emilcotoni to expand the scope of their ability to both efficiently and consistently deliver quality products to an ever increasing and demanding client base.

2002 saw the opening of a new and highly sophisticated establishment in order to compliment and satisfy an excellent sales network, covering Italy and numerous foreign markets in countries such as the United States, Japan, China, and Hong Kong. The production centres are all connected to headquarters by computer software.

To date, Emilcotoni’s success is now responsible for the company’s production of 700,000 kilograms of dyed cotton thread every year.

West Indian Sea Island Cotton : This is the cotton with the longest fibre of all the high-quality cottons.For centuries favoured by the British Royal Family , West Indian Sea Island Cotton is beyond the shadow of a doubt the best cotton in the world.

Sea Island Vicuna – A subtle variation and extension to the Sea Island story is Sea Island Cotton with Vicuna offering a stunning handle for accessories or ultra fine knitwear.

Giza 45 : Giza 45 is the most popular cotton of Emilcotoni’s “Quintessence” collection. It is a hybrid created in 1945 after a century of careful selection. It is of outstanding quality: gloss, tear-resistant, with long and very fine fibres. Its rarity has rendered it famous among the yarns originating in the Nile Delta.

Piuma Cotton: Using the Giza cotton as a base, this huge stock service range of colours is now extended using the innovative exclusive ALL system of colour technology. The ALL system contains 1000 dye recipes for the designer to reach quickly the perfect colour. The system is also created so that the designer is able to coordinate from Emilcotoni cottons to other fibres and with complete accuracy.

Extrafine Cotton: Working with the Giza cotton fibre as the base this range is Mercerized cotton and again a large stock service range of colours in two counts. Ideal for sheer knitwear, hosiery offering fantastic drape

Suvin :A hybrid of Sea Island and Sujata Cotton, Suvin is an ELS cotton from India, characterised by long and extremely fine fibre.A new Melange colour card shows the beauty of the classic shades in this delicate cotton.

SuperPiuma: Selected from Giza fibres cultivated in the Nile Delta, this is today what Egyptians call white gold: a cotton grown in small quantities, picked in the morning while still free from impurities, spun in limited quantities, and checked by the leading Swiss and German textile companies.
